Kotaku believes emulation is a vital part of the world of gaming, not least when it comes to game preservation, while not directly encouraging anyone to break the law and download games they have not purchased.

Update 11/10: An earlier version of this story was understood by many readers to be a direct suggestion to illegally download this just-released game. The next step will be to run the switch emulator that we have chosen: Yuzu. If we have not done so we will have to download the ROM in XCI format of Pokemon Sword that we leave you in the previous section.

Clearly, that’s not the case for Metroid Dread, a brand new game, but this is an enormous issue Nintendo has to face given the relative technical inferiority of its current console. The first step is somewhat obvious but still we will take into account, will be to download and install our Nintendo Switch Emulator. There are so many good reasons to be grateful for pirates, emulators, modders, and hackers for doing what so many big publishers won’t: keeping old games alive. Thanks to Nintendo’s rather poor approach to supporting older games, especially those on the Game Boy Advance and DS, emulation is often the only viable means to play through their collection, and this is the case for much of the Metroid franchise. Of course, for those wanting to feel a more legitimate approach to such an action, purchasing the Switch game before doing any such emulation - while legally very dubious - at least feels more morally clear. Normally console emulation is a generation or two behind, meaning it’s a scene that rarely infringes on release-day sales. Sorry for any misinformation that might have accidentally been spread. This raises huge issues for Nintendo, who are in the very unusual position of having a current-gen console that’s already so readily emulated on PC. I probably should have tested a few other games, but I was doing other things at the time, and just wanted to make sure that the method for getting games to load would actually work. Also, I brought up the compatibility because, when I was testing to make sure my process worked, I tested out the Mario 1/Duck hunt 2 pack, and I was immediately seeing weirdness that I'd never seen on any other emulator, and knowing emulation, if what is quite possibly the most popular game on a system has glitches, there are bound to be lots of glitches elsewhere.

I'd love to know how to actually load arbitrary roms, since I've never seen an option for it, and dragging and dropping doesn't work either. I guess that that's just me having never really used Mame for anything outside of arcade games, LCD handhelds, and the occasional CDI, Game.Com, etc. Oh, I never knew that Mame had the ability to load arbitrary ROMs. It shows how nice and caring Leon can really be :) Also yeah, whenever you find the time you should ready UDH. So I really don’t think he ever does anything with bad intentions or anything, I just think he doesn’t know any better. He does get better and grows more during school mode, saying he wants to continue to do both baseball and music, since he realizes music is also something he genuinely enjoys. It’s also why he freaks out the most before his execution and starts crying, he’s the student least used to dealing with death or tragedy. It’s also why he was freaking out so much during the game compared to the others (like having a mental breakdown when you go to talk to him in the bathroom at the last free time event of chapter 1, or his reaction after the motive videos).
The thing is, I don’t think he’s being malicious about it at all, I just think he legitametly doesn’t know any better. As a result, he thinks he can walk into any occupation without feeling the need to really try at all.

He’s one of the only characters in the series to never struggle when it came to his talent, so he gets a huge maturity drop off compared to the others. He could get away with studying and get any girl he wants simply because of his talent. Leon’s whole character is that he’s always been effortlessly good at baseball without ever having to try. Idk I’d argue his motives for quitting baseball and pursuing musing doesn’t necessarily makes him a bad person, just a bit immature.
